S-PLUS (and R) Manual to Accompany Agresti’s Categorical Data Analysis (2002), 2007Laura A. Thompson, PhD
PRINTING NOTE: From some printers, the mathematical symbols do not appear. I have identified the problem, and I will have this fixed soon (I will also fix the fact that some symbols don't even show up on screen.) In the meantime, if you save the pdf file to your hard disk, and then print from a postscript viewer such as the free Ghostview, the symbols may appear (at least they do for me).

Analyzing Linguistic Data
Analyzing Linguistic Data. A Practical Introduction to Statistics, 2007
Harald Baayen, Max-Planck-Institut für Psycholinguistik, The Netherlands
This textbook provides a straightforward introduction to the statistical analysis of language. Designed for linguists with a non-mathematical background, it clearly introduces the basic principles and methods of statistical analysis, using 'R', the leading computational statistics programme.

Ecological Models and Data in R
This is the web site for a work in progress, scheduled for delivery to Princeton University Press in September 2006, on Ecological Models and Data in R. The book is based on a class I have taught several times at the University of Florida, covering the nitty-gritty of constructing and fitting simple (statistical) ecological models to real data sets.
Last update: 13 Sept 2006 (chapters 3 and 4)
Formats: PDF, Rnw (Sweave -- original "source code"), R (R code only)
Exercises:
Miscellaneous R code

No, there is no Chapter 1 ... yet. One day I will write an introduction to the course and that will be Chapter 1.
* See also the addendum on Modelling Over-Dispersed Count Data, which describes models with extra-Poisson variation and negative binomial regression.
